INTUR (The Government Tourist Dept.) recently held workshops called “What is a Tourist Destination?” and “Creating a Tourist Product” for CANTUR (Chamber of Tourism Businesses) members from San Juan del Sur. The leader was tourist development expert Mr. Bernardo Falcón who is training small businesses across the country and working with INTUR in the areas of Planning and National Development Strategies.

Because of the need to constantly improve the services offered to the tourist, the workshop focused on creating a quality tourist package which will attract tourists in the low season. Falcón explained the basic rules of the tourism product, such as the first item; security as a key element in tourism development. The group affirmed that San Juan del Sur is a tourist destination; however, the truth is that it is in the process of making this beautiful city a destination and to achieve this we need to make changes in our businesses. Some have already taken the first steps and we can find some world class businesses in San Juan del Sur in a category that provides a quality service to meet the needs of an expert tourist who knows what he wants.

The Divisional Delegate of INTUR, Mr. Martin Rivas Rodríguez Valdez, told Del Sur News that in the coming weeks they will recommence the work of monitoring the Tourism Development Plan of San Juan del Sur presented by The Municipal Tourism Office, CANTUR, CANATUR, City Hall, and INTUR.

INTUR imparte taller sobre, ¿Que es destino turístico? y Creación de Producto Turístico, a empresarios de CANTUR San Juan del Sur. Fue impartido por el experto en desarrollo turístico Lic. Bernardo Falcón, el está capacitando a pequeños empresarios en todo el país, también colabora con el INTUR en el área de Planificación y Estrategias de Desarrollo Nacional.

Debido a la necesidad de mejorar cada día la oferta turística, se unieron esfuerzos para realizar un taller para crear un paquete turístico de calidad, que logre atraer a los turistas en temporada baja. Se explicaron las reglas básicas de producto turístico, como primer tema, la seguridad es un elemento clave en el desarrollo del turismo. San Juan del Sur es un destino turístico afirmamos todos, pero la verdad es que estamos en el  proceso, de  hacer de esta bella ciudad un destino, para lograrlo necesitamos transformaciones en nuestras empresas,  en algunas ya se han dado los primeros pasos, podemos encontrar algunos negocios con categoría internacional en San Juan del Sur, eso quiere decir que la categoría se construye con el fin de prestar un servicio de calidad, para satisfacer las necesidades de un turista  experto que sabe lo que quiere.

El delegado departamental de Rivas del INTUR Lic. Martin Rodríguez Valdez, informo a Del Sur News que en las próximas semanas se estará reiniciando el trabajo de seguimiento al Plan de Desarrollo Turístico de San Juan del Sur, donde están presentes el Gabinete de Turismo Municipal, CANTUR, CANATUR, Alcaldía Municipal, e INTUR.
