Friday, 10^th Feb. – 3rd Annual Quiksilver Carizal Surf Competition at “Beautiful” Playa Hermosa. Followed by an Evening Concert at Villas de Palermo (Shuttles from town starting at 8pm.

Saturday, 11^th Feb. – The Big One, 4^th Annual Earthship Pitaya Festival, Casa Llanta, Carizal.

Book Reading & Signing at El Gato Negro Bookstore & Coffee Shop with Gioconda Belli. Saturday February 11^th, Doors open at 5:00pm and program starts at 6pm. Call in to Gato Negro for tickets (Adults $40 Cords and Students only 20 Cords)

Harley Days Nicaragua - The 24th, 25th and 26th of February 2012 is the annual Harley Davison meeting in Managua followed by the ride to San Juan del Sur on the 25^th and a big evening get together at Hotel Ana Mar. This event is quite spectacular.

A new “Mini Mall” has been quietly built in the three units between Maggies Chicken Restaurant and Cyber Leos. It features a central access point and several individual areas ready for a variety of different stores

Pau Hana Restaurant on the Beach Road has closed down. Kenny Nakai says; “Thank you everyone for your continued support”. Pau Hana was home to the “Legendary Open Mic” which moved their after Coquito’s, the first host, closed.

“La Paleteria de Frutas” can be found between El Gato Negro and The Irish House. They sell natural fruit ice cream.

Another new Ice cream place in San Juan del Sur “Gelato Italiano” in the Hotel Estrella where Lyles Kayak (formerly Waters Edge Real Estate) used to be.

A new Hotel “HC Liri Hotel” can be found across the footbridge going to La Talanguera and is behind the hostel that you will see from the bridge. Same folks who run HC Joxi Hotel are running this new one. So you can call in there (Joxi’s – see map) and ask about it. Liri is a town in Spain, near the French border.

Viernes, 10 de febrero – 3er Concurso Anual de Surf Quiksilver  El Carrizal en Playa Hermosa. Seguido por un concierto nocturno en Villas de Palermo (Transporte de la ciudad a partir de las 20:00)

Sábado, 11 de febrero – La gran y única 4ta Entrega Anual del Festival Earthship Pitahaya, Llanta Casa, El Carrizal.

Lectura y firma de libros  en El Gato Negro Bookstore & Coffee Shop, con Gioconda Belli.  Sábado 11 de febrero, las puertas se abren a las 17:00 pm y el programa comienza a las 18:00. Llame a El Gato Negro para obtener las entradas (Adultos C$ 40 córdobas y los estudiantes sólo 20 córdobas)

Restaurante Pau Hana en calle costera ha cerrado. Kenny Nakai dice: “Gracias a todos por su continuo apoyo”. Pau Hana fue el hogar del legendario “Open Mic”, que se trasladó después que Coquitos, el primer anfitrión, fue cerrado.

Otra heladería en San Juan del Sur es “Gelato Italiano” en el Hotel Estrella, donde Lyles Kayak (donde fue Bienes Raíces Waters Edge ) .

Un nuevo hotel “HC Liri Hotel” se puede encontrar cruzando el Puente peatonal que  va a La Talanguera y está detrás del albergue que se puede ver desde el puente. Las mismas personas que dirigen HC Joxi hotel están ejecutando esta nueva alternativa de alojamiento. Así que usted puede llamar  (vea Joxi en el mapa) y preguntar. Liri es el nombre de una ciudad en España, cerca de la frontera francesa.
