Rivas Team Selected for Germán Pomares Ordóñez 2013 (Superior Baseball League)

The board of the first division team conducted a press conference with departmental journalists and sportswriters last February 5th to announce the roster for the team Frente Sur, representing Rivas.

Participating in the activity was the Mayor of Rivas; Wilfredo López Hernández, the delegate of the Nicaraguan Institute of Sport IND; Ramón Ruiz, businessman Mauricio Marenco and the coaching staff.

Mayor Wilfredo López unveiled the list of players who will participate in the new season of Major League Baseball which starts on February 15th. The mayor asked the sportswriters to help build this team and when there are faults that they offer constructive criticism. He said that the team is ready with all the baseball techniques.

The businessman Mauricio Marenco, the economic mainstay of the Frente Sur Team and members of the board said that the Rivas team already has a minor league school that will be the farm team.

The intrepid team from Rivas will play in Group C of the 18 team Senior Baseball League “Germán Pomares Ordóñez”.

La junta directiva del equipo de primera división efectuó una conferencia de prensa, con los cronistas deportivos y periodistas del departamento el pasado cinco de febrero, la actividad se realizo con el objetivo informar sobre la conformación del nuevo roster del equipo Frente Sur.

En la actividad participo el alcalde del municipio de Rivas, Wilfredo López Hernández, el delegado del Instituto Nicaragüense de Deporte IND Ramón Ruiz, el empresario Mauricio Marenco, y el cuerpo técnico del equipo.

El alcalde Wilfredo López, dio a conocer el listado de jugadores que participarán en la nueva temporada de beisbol de primera división que inicia el próximo 15 de febrero, el alcalde pidió a los cronistas deportivos que ayuden a construir este equipo, cuando existan fallas que hagan críticas constructivas, aseguro que el equipo está preparado con todas la técnicas del beisbol.

El empresario Mauricio Marenco, principal apoyo económico del equipo Frente Sur y miembros de la junta directiva, expresó que Rivas ya cuenta con una escuela de ligas menores que será el semillero que aportara de relevos al equipo.

El bravo equipo de Rivas está ubicado en el grupo C, de los 18 equipos que participaran en el Campeonato Nacional de Béisbol Superior “Germán Pomares Ordóñez.
